- Our Karigars -

‘Main Hoon Karigar’ is an initiative that celebrates artisans from all walks of life. From chefs perfecting the art of flavor to weavers crafting intricate fabrics, Main Hoon Karigar shines a light on these unsung heroes, preserving art forms that risk fading into the past. Karigari is not just a restaurant, it is a stage where these remarkable artisans showcase their craft, connecting with communities that value and cherish tradition.

To honor these talented Karigars, we began a heartfelt tradition with our very first restaurant. We invited the families of our craftsmen, laborers, and artisans to share a meal, celebrating their hard work in building our space. It was a moment of unity, gratitude, and deep respect for every hand that helped transform Karigari from a dream into a beautiful reality.

We at Karigari had the honor of presenting the first “Main Hoon Karigar” award to Mr. Asif Khan, an artisan from Agra. Mr. Khan’s family has long been known for their intricate Gaurahari stonework, a legacy that was once at risk of fading. Struggling to make ends meet, he nearly left his craft behind for a modest job.

With support from Project Virasat by Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC), Mr. Khan found a new path forward and grew his business to an inspiring turnover of 1.5–2 crore. Through our collaboration with Project Virasat, we have showcased his exquisite artwork across all Karigari locations, sharing his story and talent with our guests.

At Karigari, the “Main Hoon Karigar” initiative is dedicated to celebrating artisans from every background, whether it is chefs perfecting the culinary arts or weavers crafting intricate fabrics. We believe in preserving these priceless traditions and giving a platform to those whose artistry deserves recognition in our lives today and in the future.

As I began my food journey across India, one place that always fascinated me was Amritsar, where food isn’t just a meal, it’s an emotion. Even a simple paratha with homemade white butter and pickle felt like pure bliss. At grand celebrations, it was tradition to keep a tin of desi ghee beside the jalebi kadai, something that brought joy to even the Bebes of Amritsar. “Swaad aa gaya” was the compliment everyone longed for, and “Sewa da mauka” was embraced wholeheartedly by all.

I carried those beautiful memories into my show Turban Tadka, where I showcased food that was simple, soulful, yet gourmet in spirit. For me, food and fun go hand in hand, whether on-screen or in my kitchens across the world. Now, I invite you to let me serve you with the same passion. And if you ever feel like reaching out, ik sewa da mauka taan sanoo davo ji!

Yogesh Sharma

Founder and CEO

Karigari isn’t just a restaurant brand, it’s a dream that I nurtured with passion, patience, and purpose. It is my brainchild, born from a deep-rooted belief that food should tell a story; of culture, craft, and connection. The idea behind Karigari was simple yet profound: to celebrate the artistry of Indian cuisine.

Every dish we serve, every space we design, and every experience we create is infused with that same spirit of craftsmanship. Our Karigars, our artisans, aren’t just chefs or service staff; they are storytellers carrying forward a legacy. From our very first outlet to every new city we enter, my vision has remained constant: to make Karigari a brand built not just on great food, but on great emotions.

A place where every bite feels nostalgic, every moment feels curated, and every guest feels valued. As we continue to grow, my commitment remains stronger than ever; to serve experiences that are soulful, thoughtful, and unforgettable.
